Deltron 3030

You may have noticed that there aren't that many hip hop records in Sounds
of Mumble. It's not that I don't like nor listen to it much, I do. I just
don't know if I know enough to know what's good or bad, but this one I immediately
liked and thought was definitely worth mentioning. I might even go so far
as to say it's the best hip hop record of last year of all the ones I've
listened to. I didn't pick it up because my buddy MCPaul
Barman has a little cameo in there. I didn't even know about that
before I got it. Anyway, to tell you a little bit about the album, it is
mostly a collaboration between Del tha Funkee Homosapien, the Automator
and Kid Koala with many many guests including Prince Paul, MC Beans, Peanut
Butter Wolf, and even unlikely Damon Albarn. The whole album is like a soundtrack
to a distopic future Sci-Fi movie envisioned by Del. I am not one to get
too deeply into rhymes, but of the bits I did hear, it sounds like a critique
on society using a different context, but much more real than let's say
Star Trek. Anyway, the beats are excellent although I'm not sure where Automator
stops and Kid Koala begins.
