NEW YORK - July 31, 2000

Well, I have to be honest, I'm not a regular reader of this magazine. When they contacted me to do this review / interview thing, I couldn't recall what kind of magazine it was. I've heard of New Yorker with the neat illustrations and all. Anyway, I heard that being written up in New York is some kind of a status in the "art"world. Well, you know I moved to New York initially to be in the "art"world, but things worked out really differently and I have no idea what is happening in that world anymore. An old "artist" friend of mine asked me once if I had been making any "art" lately, so I described to him the things I have been making, but he was kind enough to let me know that these things are not really art. So, it must be a big mistake that New York magazine wrote about me in their "art"section. It's a terrible mix-up. They should've put me in the "not art"section or the "bespectacled doughnut eating loonies" section.
